Research Grants

As part of its mission to minimise the harm caused by wounds, Wounds Australia offers grants to support wound research in Australia.
We offered three grants in 2024:
- 1 x $10,000 AUD
- 2 x $5000 AUD
Grant applications will reopen in 2026.
2024 Grants
Proposals were sought for projects that investigated a significant problem or major issue in the theory or practice of wound management or prevention, or that aimed to develop new knowledge in either fundamental or applied areas related to wounds, including health policy. For example (but not restricted to):
- Assessment and/or prevention of pressure injuries
- Wound infection
- Wound assessment
- Wound-specific quality of life measures
- Strategies to translate evidence into practice
- Funding mechanisms.
Multidisciplinary, innovative research was encouraged. New investigators, early career researchers and/or research students were encouraged to apply.

- Submissions closed at 5pm AEST, Tuesday 14 May 2024.
- Winners were announced in July 2024 and received formal recognition at the Wounds Australia 2024 Conference in the Gold Coast, 14-16 October.
