New summit equips clinicians to lead, influence and drive change

Breaking news from our Platinum Partner Essity: their first Emerging Leaders Summit takes place in Melbourne this month, supported by Wounds Australia.

This exciting new professional development program is designed to build credible, confident and independent thought leaders, as part of Essity's commitment to fostering new talent.

Supporting a new generation

Thirty outstanding clinicians from a range of care settings and locations around Australia and New Zealand were selected by Essity to take part in what will become an ongoing program.

A day-long intensive in Melbourne on 19 February will include masterclasses on presentation skills and media training, and workshops on personal brand-building and scientific writing, in a syllabus designed to empower clinicians to share their expertise more effectively with peers and patients. The Emerging Leaders will enjoy more networking and learning opportunities during their stay, including the Wounds Australia Beat the Swell event that evening.

Guided by its purpose to break barriers to well-being, Essity has a long reputation for innovation in supporting clinicians to improve patient outcomes.

"At Essity, we believe leadership in healthcare means investing in people who deliver care every day," Sanjeev Singh, Managing Director, Health & Medical at Essity ANZ said. "When clinicians are empowered to lead, everyone benefits – patients, providers and the wider health community – and the wound care sector becomes stronger.

"The Emerging Leaders Program is a long-term investment in developing powerful clinical voices who can drive best practice, advocate for patients and create meaningful, impactful change."

Strengthening the sector

The Summit is supported by Wounds Australia in line with our mission to reduce the harm caused by chronic wounds.

"A diversity of perspectives and experience benefits our entire industry and, ultimately, people living with wounds, as more clinicians are empowered to effectively communicate best practice," Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff said. "As Australia's peak body for wound care, we're committed to enabling new voices to be heard, and we are delighted to find such alignment of values in our Platinum Partner Essity."

We will be reporting on the Emerging Leaders Summit again in early March.
