Wound Awareness Week theme reveal - Be Wound Aware: Wounds Affect EVERY Body
Tuesday, 4 February 2025

Every Wound Awareness Week is a chance to spotlight the hidden epidemic affecting more than 450,000 Australians a year – but you don't have to be one of them to feel the impact of chronic wounds.

In 2025 (1-7 September), we're looking at how Wounds Affect EVERY Body… and we need your help to spread the word! Here's why chronic wounds are everybody's business.

  • Everybody gets wounds – that's any cut, graze or tear in the skin
  • Every wound has the potential to become chronic (long-lasting) if not treated properly
  • Many chronic wounds can be prevented or healed with the right treatment at the right time – and we'll tell you how
  • Every chronic wound has an impact: on the affected person, on their communities and on our national health system.

Be Wound Aware: Wounds Affect EVERY Body

This year, we'll be telling you how to Be Wound Aware, including:

  • The basics of great wound care
  • How to prevent your wound from becoming chronic
  • Where to seek high quality advice if it does
  • The steps you can take to stop chronic wounds from reoccurring.

We'll also be sharing some amazing stories of real-life Australians living with wounds, tips and advice from the best care professionals, videos, training modules… and much more! Stay tuned for more updates in coming weeks, when we'll be telling you how you can get involved.

Until then, block out your diaries! Between 1-7 September 2025 - Be Wound Aware: Wounds Affect EVERY Body.
