Life Membership Award nominations open
Tuesday, 2 December 2025

Many Wounds Australia members have made outstanding contributions to the organisation and to the wound care world over the years, and Life Membership recognises such excellence. Nominations are open now and close on 1 March 2026.

Dr Pat Aldons of the Prince Charles Hospital Brisbane is a stellar example of the dedication to wound care Life Members possess. Winner of the 2024 Wounds Australia Life Member Award, Dr Aldons co-founded the hospital's Wound Clinic in 1991, helped establish the Queensland Wound Care Association and chaired its inaugural State Conference in 1992. He also played a pivotal role in forming Wounds Australia's predecessor, the Australian Wound Management Association, serving as its inaugural Vice President in 1994.

Dr Aldons has published extensively and served as Principal Investigator on more than 40 clinical trials, advancing best practice in complex wound management and elevating standards of care nationwide.

Does this sound like you or someone you know? Wounds Australia members are encouraged to explore the nomination process before submissions close in March.
