The Wounds Australia 2026 Conference

A highlight in the Australian wound care calendar, the biennial Wounds Australia Conference next takes place in Adelaide, 11-14 October 2026.

Our Scientific Program Committee is led by University of South Australia Professor Allison Cowin and Wounds Australia Board Director Dr Peta Tehan of Monash University. It will be responsible for programming the 2026 Conference in accordance with its theme 'Strengthening Networks: Navigating new frontiers for better healing'. The Committee will meet online at regular intervals, with meeting frequency increasing closer to the Conference.

EOIs to join the Scientific Program Committee close at 11.59pm AEST on Thursday 29 May 2025. Applications will be reviewed by Dr Tehan and Professor Cowin, and successful applicants will be notified by email in the coming weeks.

EWMA Compression Therapy Expert Group representative

Our valued affiliate the European Wound Management Association (EWMA) established its Compression Therapy Programme in 2020 with the aim of increasing the use of and access to compression therapy to reduce harm and optimise treatment. The International Expert Group is a clinical network that includes national or international wound management organisations like ours, and Wounds Australia is honoured to be the only national peak body invited to be a part of the Working Group.

Applications are open to Wounds Australia members to become our representative in the Expert Group. This is a prestigious board-appointed position open to individuals who meet the criteria set out in the Terms of Reference. Applications will be reviewed by the Wounds Australia Board and the successful applicant notified by email in coming weeks.

EOIs for representing Wounds Australia in this EWMA Expert Group close at 11.59pm AEST on Thursday 22 May 2025.
