Wounds Australia and Charitable Reuse Australia launch new partnership
Tuesday, 11 March 2025

Wounds Australia is excited to announce a new partnership with Charitable Reuse Australia, the nation's largest network of charitable reuse enterprises. This collaboration strengthens our ongoing efforts to raise awareness about chronic wound care while also supporting the circular economy and environmental sustainability across Australia.

Charitable Reuse Australia advocates for the reuse of goods through a network of charity retailers and social enterprises, helping to reduce waste and make a positive social impact. This partnership builds on the work we've already started with Savers® Australia, another organisation committed to reuse and sustainability. While our work with Savers® focuses on supporting chronic wound awareness through community donations, this partnership with Charitable Reuse Australia will help extend our reach, educational abilities and further our shared commitment to environmental responsibility.

About Charitable Reuse Australia

Charitable Reuse Australia has made it their mission to be at the forefront of the circular economy, diverting waste from landfills while supporting social and community initiatives. By partnering with Wounds Australia, they will help raise awareness of chronic wounds across the country and emphasise the importance of sustainability in both healthcare and daily life.

A Shared Vision

Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff said "This partnership is a key part of our strategic plan to increase public awareness of chronic wounds and advance environmental sustainability. By collaborating with organisations like Charitable Reuse Australia and Savers®, we are creating lasting, positive change for both the environment and the communities we serve."

Chronic wounds affect approximately 450,000 Australians each year, placing considerable strain on healthcare resources. Through this partnership, we aim to reach more people, educate the public about chronic wounds, and promote the social and environmental benefits of reusing goods.

While this partnership does not involve direct fundraising for Wounds Australia, it offers valuable opportunities to engage with the community. Being part of Charitable Reuse Australia's network of charity and social enterprise retailers will play a key role in amplifying our message and highlighting the positive social impact of sustainability and improved healthcare outcomes.
