AWTRS and Wounds Australia announce new partnership
Wednesday, 5 March 2025

Wounds Australia is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Australasian Wound and Tissue Repair Society (AWTRS).

A formal agreement was reached in early 2025, establishing a collaboration that promises significant benefits for both organisations and their members. This partnership recognises the closely aligned goals of each organisation and acknowledges the vital roles they play within the national healthcare system. AWTRS is dedicated to advancing the science, education, and practice of tissue repair and wound healing, while Wounds Australia continues to lead as the national peak body for the prevention, treatment, and management of chronic wounds.

Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff said, "I am delighted to announce our partnership with AWTRS, which is long overdue. We are excited to work with Professor Allison Cowin and the AWTRS Board to deliver improved health outcomes."

Partnership Goals

The primary objective of the partnership is to enhance wound care and improve patient outcomes by increasing awareness of the work being carried out by both organisations. Through this collaboration, AWTRS and Wounds Australia will share knowledge and resources to further improve patient care. Both organisations are committed to advancing consumer education on wound prevention, early identification and treatment. Additionally, the partnership will highlight key research focused on developing new treatment approaches and advancing the understanding of wound healing.

Benefit to members

AWTRS will offer Wounds Australia members reduced registration fees for its annual conference and webinar program. In return, Wounds Australia will provide AWTRS members with discounted ticket prices for its national conference.
