Gift in will program launches
Monday, 7 October 2024

A new Wounds Australia initiative offers free wills – and your chance to contribute to the future of Australian wound care research.

We're proud to announce the launch of the Wounds Australia Gift in Will program, in partnership with leading online will provider Gathered Here.

Every year, thousands of Australians choose to include a gift to charity in their will as a way of helping others while leaving a legacy. In fact, these gifts account for almost 25 per cent of all charitable giving.

Since 2021, Gathered Here has helped Australia create more than 30,000 wills through its free online platform, raising more than $350 million in pledges for a range of charities that now includes Wounds Australia.

Simply:

  • Write your will for free in around 10 minutes
  • Leave Wounds Australia an optional gift
  • Update your will as many times as you like – completely free for life.
Leaving a legacy

Your generosity will help Wounds Australia in several ways including funding research or advocacy and awareness campaigns. This will all lead to improved healing and prevention, reducing unnecessary suffering and expense for 450,000 Australians living with chronic wounds each year.

Our Gift in Will Ambassador is Dr Jenny Prentice, Wounds Australia Fellow and past President, and a wound, skin and ostomy care professional of more than 40 years. As a founding Editor of the official Wounds Australia journal, Wound Practice and Research, Dr Prentice helped bring cutting-edge research results to practitioners around the globe.

"Great wound care must be based in evidence, and research helps us understand exactly what works and why," Dr Prentice said. "By pledging a gift to Wounds Australia in your will, you will help fund research that will find new and better ways to prevent and heal more wounds."
