Member update: Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme consumer awareness campaign
Wednesday, 8 May 2024
Join our live online member update on Wednesday 29 May 2024, 1pm AEST, to find out more about an exciting campaign to better educate the general public about chronic wounds.

In early 2024, Wounds Australia received a valuable grant to raise awareness of chronic wounds among consumers. The campaign will run between 2024 and 2027 and aims to increase wound literacy in the Australian public to prevent wounds from becoming chronic and to drive consumers to wound care professionals if they do.

With more than 450,000 Australians living with a chronic wound each year – at a cost of over $6.6 billion a year to our health and aged care budgets – it is an important step towards tackling this hidden epidemic. The grant was awarded as part of the Federal Government Chronic Wound Consumables Scheme announced in the Budget 2023-24.

In the first of a planned series of quarterly updates, Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff will share more information about the awareness campaign, such as key milestones, planned activities and how Wounds Australia members can get involved.
