Wounds Australia AGM 2025 update
Monday, 17 November 2025

At the Wounds Australia 2025 Annual General Meeting last week, Board Directors Professor Fiona Wood AO and Dr Peta Tehan were reconfirmed by members.

The AGM is a chance for members of Wounds Australia to learn more about the organisation's performance, to ask questions of the Board and CEO and to vote on the issues that affect them, and it is held annually as required in our Constitution.

Thanks to all our Directors for generously volunteering their time and expertise to guiding the organisation's direction. Find out more about the Board. In a brief meeting following the AGM, the Board voted for Chair Kerry May and Deputy Chair Professor Christina Parker to retain their positions.

In praise of volunteers

In her AGM update, Ms May commended the work of Wounds Australia volunteers, in particular highlighting the efforts of the Committees who run our professional learning events. In the 2024–2025 financial year, they produced 26 sessions attended by 3300 people around the country, compared with 1500 people at 13 events in the previous year.

Ms May said on behalf of the Board: "I offer our heartfelt thanks to the passionate professionals who volunteer on our State and Territory Committees for producing interesting, relevant events that help drive the adoption of best practice in care settings around the nation."

She also updated attendees on news from our Be Wound Aware consumer education campaign, which we have written about elsewhere in the News Centre, and reported on other organisational successes such as growth in individual and corporate memberships, and the Wounds Australia 2024 Conference.
