Our annual Wound Awareness Week (1-7 September 2025) is made possible with the generous support of sponsors committed to educating and informing the nation about chronic wounds. Platinum Partner Smith+Nephew (S+N) is the official sponsor of Wednesday 3 September, and they have an incredible line-up of education and events planned for this year's Wound Awareness Week. We know that almost half a million Australians live with chronic wounds that can be painful, embarrassing, isolating and expensive to treat, and that even the smallest of wounds can become chronic if not treated properly or in good time. Which is why our 2025 theme is Be Wound Aware: Wounds Affect EVERY Body. And S+N have wholeheartedly embraced this theme in their plans for the week. Their activities will highlight that wounds are not just a clinical issue but a major social and economic burden that impacts patients, carers and the healthcare system. Leading wound awareness around AustraliaS+N's strategy is inclusive and designed to connect with multiple audiences: hospital clinicians, community nurses, pharmacists, patients, and its own staff. They're planning an integrated campaign to raise awareness of the scale of the problem, educate on prevention and treatment best practice, and underscoring the organisation's reputation in advanced wound care. S+N are also demonstrating sector leadership with the launch of best practice guidelines for acute wound care for pharmacists at the Pharmacy Connect conference on 3 September. And, as always, the S+N team will be hosting internal activities throughout the week that will underscore this year's message: that Wounds Affect EVERY Body! Thanks to Smith+NephewS+N is a proud partner of Wound Awareness Week. Explore their resources for patients and clinicians on their Partner Page or find factsheets, videos and more at woundaware.org. |
