Affiliation with American Limb Preservation Society announced

Wounds Australia is pleased to announce a new affiliation with the American Limb Preservation Society (ALPS). The organisations will collaborate to strengthen wound prevention and management, reduce avoidable amputations and improve outcomes through shared education, advocacy and the exchange of clinical knowledge.

The affiliation reflects a mutual commitment to improving patient outcomes by raising awareness of best-practice wound care and supporting both clinician and consumer education. 

Wounds Australia CEO Jeff Antcliff said Wounds Australia is proud to align with ALPS, a respected multidisciplinary organisation working to eliminate preventable amputations. 

“Together, we aim to strengthen clinical knowledge and support earlier intervention through collaborative action,” said Mr Antcliff.

Affiliation goals

The affiliation will focus on: 

  • Raising awareness of each organisation across both memberships
  • Sharing educational resources and practice knowledge
  • Supporting joint efforts in education, research, implementation and advocacy
  • Promoting awareness of wound prevention, early recognition and the importance of seeking timely care.

As part of the affiliation: 

  • Wounds Australia members will receive ALPS member pricing for ALPS’s annual flagship event Diabetic Foot Conference (DFCon) 
  • One Wounds Australia representative will receive complimentary registration to DFCon 
  • ALPS members will receive Wounds Australia member pricing for the biennial Wounds Australia Conference 
  • Ongoing collaboration between the organisations will include knowledge sharing, expert sourcing and resource development.
