The program

Following an opening address by clinician and Conference Chair Hayley Ryan that looked back on 30 incredible years of Wounds Australia, local Indigenous representatives gave a warm and powerful Welcome to Country.

On to our illustrious keynote speakers, a 'who's who' of international wound care. The packed plenary program included these leading speakers:

• Griffith University's Professor James Charles on First Nations' health
• Thomas Leong of Sydney LHD on AI and VR in wound care
• A/Prof Francis Wong of Singhealth, who presented the Asian perspective on championing change in wound care
• EWMA President-Elect Prof Dimitri Beeckman on contemporary wound care frameworks
• A/Prof Michael Woodward on wound care and ageing
• EWMA President Dr Kirsi Isoherranen on care models in practice
• University of Queensland's Prof Fiona Coyer on bridging the gap between research and practice
• Immediate Past President of EWMA Prof Sebastian Probst on wound care education
• Monash University's Dr Peta Tehan on the current state of Australia wound research.

World of Wounds Theatrette

In a first for the Wounds Australia Conference, we trialled a series of 'silent' presentations hosted by our valued industry partners in an innovative theatrette setting in our exhibition hall, to keep the learning going between programmed events. It proved a huge hit with delegates and industry alike, with audiences regularly overflowing beyond the theatrette. Thanks to all who attended or sponsored these valuable learning opportunities.

30 years of championing change

This year marks the 30th anniversary of our work to make wound care a national health priority. Wounds Australia thanks every single member and supporter for their tireless dedication to minimising the harm caused by wounds. We marked the occasion with cake! Life Members Dr Peta Tehan and Dr Jenny Prentice did the cake-cutting honours, ably assisted by our CEO Jeff Antcliff.
