Dear

Wound Awareness Week (2-8 Sept) is almost here and I want to share with you some of the incredible things taking place this year. As our biggest annual campaign, the week is a highly effective way of bringing wound care reform into the national conversation. Here’s what’s on the agenda:

  • Mon 2 Sept: A launch event at the University of South Australia’s Future Industries Institute including a roundtable discussion on the future of wound care with researchers, clinicians and other key peak bodies.
  • Tues 3 Sept: A National Press Club address by Professor Wood on the urgent need for wound care reform. Tickets – all welcome and more below.
  • Thurs 5 Sept: A patient and clinician meet-and-greet with Assistant Minister for Health and Aged Care Ged Kearney MP and Professor Wood at Bundoora Wound Clinic in Melbourne’s north.
  • Fri 6 Sept: an exclusive lunch with Minister for Health and Aged Care Mark Butler MP and Louise Miller-Frost MP, with Professor Wood and our valued industry partners.

On the subject of industry, we’re delighted to welcome back Wound Awareness Week Partners Smith+Nephew, Mölnlycke and Solventum, who are all continuing their sponsorship from previous years. We couldn’t do it without them.

Or without you! We’re grateful to our passionate members and supporters, who make every Wound Awareness Week the huge success it is. And there are so many ways you can get involved, from morning teas to webinars to social media. Explore them below.

Thanks for your continued support of Wound Awareness Week. We look forward to seeing your amazing creations!

In 2024 we're emphasising the practical steps we can take to minimise the harm caused by wounds, such as understanding the wound warning signs, knowing when and where to seek help, and taking preventive action such as regular foot checks and implementing skin care regimes, for example.
