Join us for a special evening as we celebrate the inaugural National Beat the Swell Day!

This unique event brings together clinicians, specialists, researchers and health professionals dedicated to advancing knowledge and best practice in preventing and managing conditions that cause lower limb swelling, and its consequences.

Keynote Speakers:

Dr Elizabeth Webb

Senior physiotherapist and lymphoedema specialist, renowned for research in chronic oedema and compression therapy.

Professor Fiona Wood AO

Internationally recognised burns specialist, tissue engineering pioneer, and Australian of the Year (2005).


Following our keynote speakers, there will be a panel discussion moderated by Occupation Therapist & ALA Accredited Lymphoedema Training Provider, Stacey Bradshaw and featuring:

  • Diane Fisher – living with lymphoedema
  • Katherine Turner – President of the Australasian Lymphology Association
  • Dr Mark Turner – President of the Australian and New Zealand Society for Vascular Surgery 
  • Maree O'Connor – Lymphoedema Physiotherapist & PhD candidate, addressing early detection and intervention
  • Greer Hosking – Wound Clinical Nurse Consultant & Lymphoedema Practitioner
  • Fiona Wood AO

  • Ticket prices are $39, light supper and refreshments included
  • Certificates of attendance will be issued for those who attend, equivalent to 3 hours of CPD
  • Registrations for this event will close on Thursday 12 February at 5pm, unless sold out prior

Getting to Rendezvous Hotel Melbourne:
  • Located a short 3- minute walk from Flinders Street train station
  • Parking is available adjacent to the hotel at 300 Flinders Street with an $8 evening flat rate 
  • There are stairs at both hotel entrances. For lift access, please go to the left of the main entrance stairs, where you will find a narrow corridor leading to the lift.
